UCC’s Music Department has been at the vanguard of teaching Irish traditional music for 100 years. We are honoured to be able to celebrate this anniversary by featuring the brilliant music and stories of some of those faculty and students that have been a part of our institution through the years.

We are delighted to honour this monumental centenary milestone with an album of Irish Traditional Music that showcases the talent and creativity of students and staff at the UCC Department of Music. While this particular album celebrates the vibrant and thriving traditional music culture of our Department right now, future releases in this series will reflect on the far-reaching impacts that Irish traditional music studies at UCC have had on successive generations of students. Our graduates have pursued a diverse range of professional pathways and have gone on to contribute to Irish traditional music and culture in areas as diverse as performance, research, education, composition and arts administration, in local, national, and international communities. We look forward to celebrating and charting this interconnectedness as we embrace a new century of Irish Traditional Music studies at University College Cork.

Hello Aidan, I purchased your new album in April and have enjoyed playing the download. When the it arrived in the post there was no physical CD inside the case. I have been promised a replacement but have still not received anything. I only need the CD - I have the case. Obviously I can create a CD from the download, but that’s not the point.
